You have until September 30, 2026 to move off Mantle Billing. Until then, your Mantle billing keeps charging your merchants normally, so there's no gap while you switch.
We recommend moving to Shopify App Pricing when it's ready. App Pricing, with built in support for usage based pricing, is where Shopify is taking app billing long-term. It's only open to new apps today as Shopify is still building the tooling to migrate existing apps, but we expect that it will be ready before September 30. Mantle is a wrapper around Shopify's Billing API: your subscriptions actually live on Shopify, and Mantle creates and manages them for you. Your Mantle Billing keeps charging your merchants normally until September 30, 2026. Before then, you'll either move to Shopify App Pricing once it's open to existing apps or take over the Shopify Billing API yourself.
Can I use App Pricing now, or do I have to wait for migration tooling?
Not yet. App Pricing is only open to new apps right now, and Shopify is still building the migration tooling for existing apps, and we expect that it will be ready ahead of September 30.
What about Flex Billing?
Shopify's App Pricing may not support the Flex Billing model we developed, so if Flex Billing is critical for your business, you'll likely need to build it yourself on Shopify's Billing API.
